I am wanting to start a tutoring business through a single member LLC. I will be my only employee. I am motivated to create this business not only because tutoring businesses are thriving in my area, but in order to keep my Medicaid health insurance I must have consistent employment. This makes it to where I won't have a gap in coverage while I have contract roles for other jobs.
I am a bit lost on how I should create my LLC. I was going to go through a law firm to make sure that I don't make any mistakes but now after reading some books (and the firms giving me some quotes!) I'm realizing that I don't have the money to waste on that, and as this is a really "simple" business to create I would like to do so on my own, only having to pay the state filing fee. I am from the state of Texas.
One thing I want to make sure when I create my business is that I'm not having to use my own address… I heard that if I used my own address that it would be public for everyone. But I also know I won't be receiving any mail so paying for a PO box every month is not the best option.
Should I go through an online service? Is there a "cheapest" way to go about this without risking making any mistakes?
Thank you so much for your responses.
